Do You Really Need A New Car?

by CarTeck Now

Wishing your car had a touchscreen monitor? Jealous of your friend's Bluetooth calling?  Or maybe you just need a backup camera.

We're here to tell you that buying a new car is not the only option!

Let's face the facts, buying a new car today is expensive! The average cost of a new car in 2018 was $36,270, and it's only expected to go up more every year. This causes many drivers to put off trading in for the latest car model, and leaves them further and further behind in car technology.

Car technology improves so quickly every year, that it feels almost impossible for the average driver to keep up. Just recently, cars have become standard with technologies like:

  • Bluetooth
  • Backup cameras
  • Monitors and touchscreens

Luckily, we here at CarTeck Now can upgrade the technology in your older vehicle without adding a new car payment.

The perfect solution: same car, new tech!

Let's talk about the number one feature add-on -- Bluetooth! This is the easiest to upgrade in any vehicle, new or old! Don't believe me? Well, let's see!

Got an AUX port?

For drivers with an AUX port, you're in luck. Adding Bluetooth is as simple as plug-and-play. Just get yourself a Bluetooth-to-aux adapter, connect your smart phone or other Bluetooth-enabled device, and you're good to go!

No AUX port?  No problem!  You have some other options:

  • Bluetooth cassette adapter -- streams audio from your Bluetooth-enabled device through your cassette player.
  • Bluetooth FM transmitter -- streams audio from your Bluetooth-enabled device through your FM radio.

Of course, you could always replace your entire factory radio for an aftermarket radio that comes with Bluetooth, but for the options above, it'll cost less than $20 to add Bluetooth!  For more information, check out our complete guide on how to add Bluetooth to your car.

Backup Cameras & Monitors

The next item on a driver's new car wish list is a backup camera. This is usually a two-part upgrade: you need both the backup camera and a monitor. Because of this, most people think it's too hard and complicated to install a backup camera. This couldn't be farther from the truth! We have the perfect kits that are affordable and easy to install.

Want a Backup camera? Installation is easy as pie!

For example, at CarTeck Now, we offer a wireless backup camera and monitor kit. The backup camera attaches behind your license plate and the monitor plugs into your cigarette lighter. That's it! No running cables through your car, no hiring an installer.

Here are the steps:

Screw camera in with your existing license plate

Connect camera with the power source in the rear of your vehicle

Mount monitor to your dash or windshield and plug into your cigarette lighter

Backup cameras and monitors come in all different shapes, sizes, and styles. Be sure to check out our backup camera selection to find the one that's right for you. As always, our car tech experts are here to help with any installation!

We can get you the features you want, so you can keep the car you love!

At the end of the day, no matter what the flashy new car ads say, buying a new car is not the only option! Whether you are wanting a simple upgrade of adding Bluetooth, or if you want a top of the line backup camera kit, we have you covered.
